Picbois Productions currently filming a documentary on abortion

The documentary, produced by Picbois Productions and directed by Julie Boisvert and Élise Ekker-Lambert, will air on Radio-Canada during the 2024-2025 season. The film plunges sensitively into the reality of abortion clinics, a hitherto unseen access for a production team.

“Even if we often have the impression that abortion here is an acquired right, we want to give a voice to women and front-line players in clinics and organizations who bear witness to the persistent risks. Picbois makes films about current burning issues to create social conversations. This project is part of that commitment. – Marie-Pierre Corriveau, Producer, Picbois Productions

At a time when approximately one in three Canadian women will have an abortion in her lifetime, this film speaks out and breaks the silence to protect this essential right.

The documentary is produced with the financial participation of the Société de développement des entreprises culturelles (SODEC), the Rogers Documentary Fund, the Film and Television Tax Credit (Gestion SODEC), the Canada Media Fund, the Canadian Film or Video Production Tax Credit, and Radio-Canada.
