Alone premieres at the Calgary International Film Festival
Picbois Productions is proud to present Alone, the first feature-length documentary directed by Paul Tom (Baggage) and written by Julie Boisvert, Mylène Péthel and Paul Tom. The film follows Afshin, Alain and Patricia, who fled their country without their parents when they were just children. They found the strength to rebuild their lives here in Canada, in the hope of a better future.
Alone will have its world premiere in official competition at the 22nd Calgary International Film Festival (CIFF), which runs from September 23 to October 3. The screening will take place on Sunday, September 26 at 4:45 p.m. at the Cineplex Odeon Eau Claire Market, in the presence of Patricia Asiimwe (protagonist of the film) and Mylène Péthel (co-writer). The film will also be available online from September 27 to October 3, in Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba.
Produced and distributed by Picbois Productions, Alone will open in Quebec in November 2021. It will then air on Télé-Québec in December.
