Winter Harvest: a documentary about the astonishing adventure of market gardeners who grow vegetables in the dead of winter

Picbois Productions and Télé-Québec present Winter Harvest, directed by Amélie Dussault (La vraie nature, C’est plus qu’un jardin, Moi j’mange, Police avant-gardiste). A documentary film that traces the astonishing adventure of market gardeners who grow vegetables during the winter months in Quebec, in greenhouses with almost no heating. Récolter l’hiver will be broadcast on Télé-Québec on Wednesday, January 10 at 8 p.m.
The market gardeners at Ferme des Quatre-Temps, Ferme Chapeau Melon and Jardin des funambules are leading the way, testing new methods over the winter months to produce incredible-tasting vegetables.

The film is the original idea of Amélie Dussault and Jean-Martin Fortier. They wanted to highlight a model much better adapted ecologically to our northern conditions, and encourage people to eat locally during the cold season.
