Marie-Pierre Corriveau new shareholder of Picbois Productions
Picbois Productions is pleased to announce the appointment of producer Marie-Pierre Corriveau as the new shareholder of Picbois Productions, alongside producer and founder Karine Dubois. They will now act as co-presidents of the company.
To complete this transaction, the company will be able to count on the financial support of the Fonds Québecor and the Canada Media Fund, thanks to the increase in female shareholding under the Export Assistance Program (PAEX).
In the industry for over 20 years, Marie-Pierre Corriveau has produced a large number of unique series and documentaries that have won awards both in Quebec and internationally. A seasoned producer, she knows how to lead her teams and deliver quality productions that exceed expectations. Content that makes sense and inspires is at the heart of her approach.
“I’m delighted to be able to join forces with a woman as talented and determined as Marie-Pierre. We share the same values and ambitions. In these times of crisis in our industry, it’s an immense privilege to be able to rely on each other. Marie-Pierre really plays a central role in the company, so it was natural for me that she should become an equal partner in the business.” – Karine Dubois
“I’m honored and delighted to be working alongside Karine on this new challenge. I’m very grateful for the confidence Karine has shown in me. I know how much energy and talent she has deployed since 2010 to create and develop Picbois. Today, the two of us are pooling our strengths and talents to grow the company and continue to dare and push the limits. It’s really motivating!” – Marie-Pierre Corriveau
In addition to producing impact films that will be in the news in 2024, Picbois Productions is diversifying its activities with a quiz inspired by the world of “pub quizzes” that will be broadcast on Télé-Québec. The Fonds indépendant de production (FIP) also confirmed in the last few days that it will support the development of Picbois’ first fiction web-series: “Travail d’été”, with Catherine Proulx as scriptwriter, Suzie Bouchard as script-editor and Sophie Samson as development producer.
