Polytechnique Project, a documentary podcast available November 25 on Radio-Canada OHdio

Picbois Productions, Porte Parole and Radio-Canada OHdio are proud to present the documentary podcast Polytechnique Project, directed by Myriam Berthelet. Part of a documentary theater approach, the work features actors Marie Joanne Boucher and Jean-Marc Dalphond, whose cousin was one of the 14 women killed at the Polytechnique.

More than 30 years after this tragedy, Marc Lépine’s admirers are still active, and the issue of gun control has not been resolved. Feminicides are piling up and anti-feminist rhetoric is proliferating on the web. Marie-Joanne and Jean-Marc seek out those whose thinking is diametrically opposed to their own, and try to open a dialogue. They have wholeheartedly embarked on a citizen’s initiative, with the aim of creating a documentary play on the subject.

Presented in six 20-minute episodes, Polytechnique Project will be available exclusively on the Radio-Canada OHdio platform from November 25.

PREMIERE AT RIDM

The first episode of the podcast will be premiered at the Rencontres internationales du documentaire de Montréal (RIDM) on Sunday, November 20 at 3 pm, at the Cinéma du Musée. Hosted by Eugénie Lépine Blondeau, the listening session will be followed by a discussion with creators Marie-Joanne Boucher and Jean Marc Dalphond, director Myriam Berthelet and Annabel Soutar of Porte Parole. It’s a rare opportunity to listen to a podcast in theatres, and to discuss its strong themes afterwards!
