Right to Choose: Special screenings organized in several Quebec cities
Picbois Productions presents the documentary Right to Choose, directed by Julie Boisvert and Élise Ekker-Lambert, an unprecedented insight into the reality of abortion in Canada. The film takes us inside clinics, a rarely filmed environment, and breaks down taboos with testimonials from women who have undergone abortions.
Premiering at Rendez-vous Québec Cinéma this Wednesday, February 26 at 7pm at the Cinémathèque québécoise, Right to Choose will be broadcast in a 52-minute television version the same evening at 8pm on ICI RDI and ICI TOU.TV, as well as on Saturday, March 8 at 10:30pm on ICI TÉLÉ to mark International Women’s Rights Day.
Right to Choose will also be presented in theatres, to open discussion on the essential and topical themes addressed in the film. It opens at the Cinémathèque québécoise on March 7, and ciné-rencontres with the film’s directors and protagonists are scheduled for March 7, 8, 10 and 12. The film will continue its journey with special screenings at La Maison du Cinéma in Sherbrooke (March 16), Paraloeil in Rimouski (March 18) and Cinéma Le Clap Ste-Foy in Quebec City (March 19).
