“Bulles” hits theaters on April 17 in celebration of Autism Awareness Month

To mark Autism Awareness Month, Classe libre and Picbois are announcing the theatrical release of Bulles, an inspiring and deeply human documentary written and directed by Mélissa Lefebvre and Paul Tom, the filmmaking duo behind the Baggage project. This new film spotlights young people on the autism spectrum who express their creativity and reflections through a creative space that combines theater and 3D animation. Bulles will be screened in its entirety starting April 17 in Montreal (Cinémathèque québécoise, Cinéma Beaubien, Cinéma Public) and in Quebec City (Cinéma Le Clap Ste-Foy).

A premiere screening attended by the film crew, including several of the film’s young protagonists, will take place at Théâtre Outremont on Thursday, April 16, at 7 p.m. Additional events will be organized during the film’s first week in theaters, from April 17 to 26. Filmmakers Mélissa Lefebvre and Paul Tom, producer Catherine Hughes, and students who participated in the project will engage with the audience following the screenings.

With the generous participation of Roy, Rokaya, Leo, Zoé, Houssein, Daniel, Alexis, Thomas, Marco, Carmi, Keqi, and many other students from the CASA (Class Adapted to the Autism Spectrum) groups at École Paul-Gérin-Lajoie-d’Outremont and SAS Outremont.
