Beau Dommage, an original podcast experience at the heart of an essential work
Picbois Productions is thrilled to present the 7-episode podcast Beau Dommage, available from June 12, 2024 on the Radio-Canada OHdio platform. 50 years after the release of their iconic album Beau Dommage, the band members listen to the multitrack tapes for the first time, and delve into their creative process.
With exclusive access to the separate tapes of the album, Picbois Productions, Guylaine Maroist and director Sarah Fortin, offer an intimate audio experience of how the band and their first album came together. Michel Rivard, Pierre Huet, Marie-Michèle Desrosiers, Robert Léger, Réal Desrosiers and Pierre Bertrand tell their stories, revealing what lies behind the composition of hits like Tous les palmiers, 23 décembre, La complainte du phoque en Alaska, Harmonie du soir à Châteauguay, Le picbois and all those songs we know by heart.
As well as exploring the history of the iconic group, the podcast explores the creative process behind each song, track by track. Each of the band members shares anecdotes about their first meeting, the musical discoveries and early harmonies that shaped their distinctive sound. Their stories intersect, their memories respond, and their friendship shines through in every episode.
The podcast was produced in collaboration with La Ruelle Films and Radio-Canada OHdio.
